All my receipts for this project so far! Including the tools I've needed to purchase so far, the project is sitting at around $300. I still need to buy arcade controls and wires (~$80), an arcade control interface card (~$40), plexiglass for the screen ($?), monitor bezel ($?), paint ($?), router bits (~$30), coin door (~$50), power-strip (~$15), wireless keyboard and mouse (~$60), computer speakers (~$20), front MDF panel ($8), cabinet lock for computer access panel ($5), and probably some other miscellaneous items. Projected project cost excluding tool purchases: ~$520. Not included is the computer I'm planning on using -- a PC with a 933MHz PIII CPU and 512MB of RAM. Figure that's worth about $50. $570 is not bad considering a complete, unassembled MAME arcade kit from an online arcade kit company would probably run between $1500 and $2500 depending on extra options, including shipping. Granted, mine won't be as slick in some respects, though I'll have the tools to give it another crack! (Oct. 3, 2007 1:08am) |
